Two Slovak films awarded at Ekofilm 2010

The 36th annual "International Film Festival on the Environment and Natural and Cultural Heritage" - EKOFILM 2010 - took place from October 4 - 10, 2010 in the cities of České Budějovice, Český Krumlov and Třeboň. EKOFILM is about more than movies. The festival also featured a series of gatherings with interesting guests, seminars, discussion groups, workshops, panel discussions, exhibits, concerts, live theater and other accompanying events.

61 films have been selected to participate in the main round of the competition in which the films were judged by a five-member international panel made up of the writer and director Alena Činčerová, the architect Vlado Milunić, the documentary filmmaker and producer Michael Havas, the director and producer Ján Oparty (Slovakia) and the playwright Jacgues Génot (France). Two Slovak films has been awarded by this international juries. Arsy -Versy directed by Miroslav Remo, which won the Special Award of the Jury andMongolia - In the Shadow of Genghis Khan directed by Pavol Barabáš, who won  "Awarded for the director's treatment of the intricate issue of a little-known Asian country in relation to the most famous part of its history - the time of Genghis Khan's Empire."
