When we descended the highest peak of New Guinea after a march taking several hours through the undamaged jungle, we were a bit shocked. In front of us we saw images looking like Mars. A giant surface of a gold and copper mine occupying several kilometers. It is believed to be the biggest on our planet. Huge cableways, railways and the most modern giant dredgers on Earth dig in the precious ecosystem of the mountain primeval forest full of peculiar animals.
I know, it is far away from us so it does not concern us, but a sensitive person has to thing about the human actions on Earth. He has to realize, that our planet is getting sick, and that this sickness, it is us. We spread eagle in the sick organism like microbes, we destroy, and feed on regardless everything around us. As soon as we find ourselves in danger, we change a bit our behavior, but not for the sake of the host planet, but for short-term priorities of all of us. In the very near future we can presumably expect a damnification of the heat-regular system of the Earth caused by our human materialistic effort to get as many things as possible....
The Earth is a big organism that behaves just to save his life. It has infinite number of possibilities of back couplings in order to protect itself from the attacking virus. The mechanism of self-preservation of Earth starts backfiring on the activities of people. I am an optimist. This time I cross my fingers that our beautiful blue planet will restore to health...
Utopia? Dramatic? Too little probable? I know it sounds like from a cheap novel, but climatologists start signalizing that in near future human society will face dramatic changes. The train that takes us away from the bindings to nature cannot be turned or stopped...Maybe in the technical world we gradually create, we will find a certain (non-democrat) solution and humanity will go a reasonable way in the future...In the new era children in schools will shake their heads in disbelief about our dark era when parents allowed their children to breath clouds of toxic gasses...
