Karakoram Highway - About the film

With the intention to record the primitive life and culture of tribes in the area between the deserts of Asia and plains of Pakistan, where the highest mountain ranges of the world - the Himalayas, Hindu-Kush, Karakoram and the Pamirs meet, as well as to see this unique mountainous land, in the year 1993 four Slovaks decided to walk through the historical "silky" trade route across the area. The strategic Karakoram Highway had for years been a witness to the rich history and tens of thousands of the Chinese and the Pakistani were building it for a quarter of a century.
